Bio
Dante began training in Filipino martial Arts at the age of 5. During that time, his father trained him out of necessity for fear of another
World War. Dante’s father was a World War II veteran and the
thinking back then was that another war might occur. Even though the training was very difficult, Dante enjoyed it and he even continued to train in Filipino Marital Arts throughout his adulthood. When Dante arrived to Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada in 1977, he wanted to continue his passions for martial arts and help grow the profile of the expanding Filipino community. To do his part, Dante decided to open the first martial arts school that offered only Filipino Martial Arts. Back in the 1970-s this was a huge gamble as many Filipinos were only familiar with foreign martial arts such as Karate, Taekwondo and Judo. Sikaran Arnis School of Martial Arts has grown in that time, and Dante now has many students that have opened their own Filipino Martial Arts Schools and many of those students continue to recognize him as
their master in martial arts.
